Purifying Mask

I like to always treat my skin with great products and typically will do a facial mask once every week or so. I started doing this mask every once in a while a few months back and have never been disappointed in the results. Your skin heats up a little during the mask & feels wonderful afterwards.

Try it out and let me know your thoughts.

Weekend Wear

Nothing like spending the weekend in basics. Now being in Chicago, I had to get myself a Cubs hat... you know to fit in with the locals :)

Happy Monday!

Spring Showers

With the rain comes Hunter boots and I am fully ok with that. They are one of my best purchases, I have worn them far too often... (if that is possible).

Tree lined downtown, movie perfect alley ways, the truly MAGNIFICENT mile, Chicago deep dish pizza & Magnolia Bakery... all in my first weekend.

You really know how to welcome a girl, well done Chicago. I'm loving you already.

Busy as can be

I wasn't going to have a post today, as lately my days have been filled with to do lists that seem to get longer, rather than shorter. I add a few things to the lists, once one thing is accomplished. I wonder how all will get done at weeks end?

In the meanwhile, I have kept an eye or ear near a television listening to the news about Boston. I can't get my mind off of it and i'm continuously thinking of those innocent victims.

Quick Recipe

Italian Basil & Garlic Chicken

You will need:
2 to 4 Chicken Breasts
Italian Salad Dressing-(I used fat free)
Fresh Tomatoes. Use one for every chicken breast
Fresh Basil
2 Garlic cloves
Lemon pepper

1. Line your crock pot with the slow cooker liners. I use these all the time, cause it makes clean up SO easy. No harsh scrubbing ever!
2. Place frozen chicken breasts in crock pot and pour desired amount of Italian dressing over chicken. I just make it to where my chicken is covered in it.
3. Cut up tomatoes, basil and garlic and put over dressed chicken. Then sprinkle entire pot with lemon pepper.
4. Slow cook for 4-6 hours or 6-8 hours. However long you you choose or how long you will be away from home.
5. Serve over brown rice or noodles.

*Note- If you want to serve this over noodles, make sure to use more Italian dressing and more tomatoes, so it will create more sauce for you*

I am one that loves a great meal, but don't want to slave in the kitchen. I made this up when I was going through my fridge and kind of combined two recipes I always make. I served this with THESE I had found on Pinterest, which were super easy & pretty good.

My Prayers and thoughts go out to all those in Boston. What a horrible, horrible thing...
Bless all of you!

As I post this, I know that it looks like a lot of products, but I promise its really not. This is the makeup and tools I use if I have enough time in the morning to do a complete look. After I wash my face with Meaningful Beauty (Which is a whole post in itself) I complete my routine as follows;

1. Loreal Miracle Blur. A pore refiner in which you can read my rave review here. Plus contains SPF.
2. I apply either Bobbi Brown BB Cream or Bobbi Brown Moisture Rich Foundation. Both contain SPF in them. I always apply my foundations with MAC foundation brush #188. I swear by this little magic brush & you will use less product if you use a brush to apply.
3. Maybelline Dream Lumi Concealer. Always create a triangle from end of eye to tip of nose. This will make your concealer blend much better and look natural. RI blend again with brush #188.
4. Rimmel London Bronzor. I buy the #021-Sun light. Apply by creating a large #3 on each side of your face. Starting at your forehead, sides of temples, check bones and finish with your jawline. Then blend, blend, blend.
5. Mac Mineralize Skin Finish in color Soft & Gentle. Apply this to the highest point of your cheekbones. A very little goes a long way.
6. Elf Cosmetics Blush in Pink Passion.(I love the baby pink this color gives off. Don't be nervous when you see how bright it looks in the package). Apply this to the apples of your cheeks.
7. Urban decay Eyeshadow primer. My eyeshadows never seem to stay in place without this. I must have greasy eyelids or something & this seems to be the only primer that works for me.
8. Mac Eyeshadows in Kid, Mulch, Espresso. I apply kid to the creases of eye & a little above, mulch to bottom lashes & over lower lid. Finish off with espresso in crease. (Best part about buying Espresso is that you can fill in eyebrows with it or contour your face with it. A must buy). My eyeshadows never seem to stay in place without Urban decay Eyeshadow primer. I must have greasy eyelids or something & this seems to be the only primer that works for me.
9. Loreal Smoldering Eyeliner. I only apply to top lid. But do as you choose.
10. Eyelash curler. If you don't use one, your crazy! It's a hidden tool every girl should own. It makes your lashes stand out so much more.
11. Maybelline Falsies mascara & Loreal Telescopic mascara. I layer these two, starting with falsies and finish with telescopic. It seems to work for me and enable me to get each and every lash I have.
12. Rimmel Exaggerate Lip liner in #06-Eastend Snob & Bobbi Brown Creamy Matte lipstick in True Pink. My favorite lip color to wear. This lip stick is perfect color, stays on for hours, looks matte but feels creamy. Perfect combo!

I hope that this can give you an inside to what I wear on my face and maybe give you some tips on products to try. Keep in mind, this is what I would wear everyday if I had the ability to get out of bed each morning at the right time. Some days, I just wear the Bobbi Brown BB cream cause it is a one step process and already has my sunblock in it.

Anyways, its almost the weekend right??

My Weekend

This weekend was a lazy one for me. I spent much of my time in front of the TV listening to my church conference, you can read about it here. But I also found some things to keep me busy.

1. Coconut Oil Hair Mask- I use coconut oil for cooking, a body oil and now my hair. I applied some to wet hair and left it on for about 15-20mins. Then shampoo/conditioned as normal. I now have a whole new texture to my hair & loving it. Try it our for yourselves.

2. I have finally found myself the perfect "Barbie pink" nail polish. It's Revlon- "Pink Lingerie". You can pick it up at your local Target. I have never used the top speed drying ones, but am now sold on them. I think this is the first manicure I have done on myself that hasn't smudged minutes later.

This what it looks like on
3. I found my new favorite song, "One Grain of Sand"- by Ron Pope. It honestly has been on repeat in the house, shower & car. Obsessed! Check it out here

4. Although the weather has not been allowing me to wear shorts all the time, a girl can still dream right? I have been eyeing a bunch of cut offs lately, but decided to make my own out of jeans I haven't worn in awhile, if not years. I'm pretty happy with the outcome

Happy Monday!
